WASHINGTON: The quake struck again in the Pacific Ocean region. The level of tremors was reported to be about 8 decimal 2. But the origin of this tremor is deep in the surface of the earth, as it does not cause any damage to the USGIS. Even as the earthquake was very deep, it assured that it will not cause any tsunami, the weather department has assured.
USGS said the earthquake was 560 km deep in the earth’s surface. The USGS meteorologists believe that the vibration of the surface is low.
According to the USGS, the magnitude of the earthquake was first reported as 8, then its level was reported at 8.2. If not very deep, earthquake of this magnitude would have been a major cause of damages. The epicenter of the earthquake is about 270 kilometers east of Fiji Levuça and 443 kilometers west of Tonga Niafu. The area is located in the Pacific Ocean Earthquake Ring of Fire.
